Presentationīesides gameplay, Super Meat Boy and Super Meat Boy Forever feature different visuals and other presentational qualities. However, failure in Super Meat Boy almost always feels like it's your fault and because of that, I find that its challenge is far more satisfying so Super Meat Boy wins better gameplay. With that being said, the fact that Meat Boy simply runs in Super Meat Boy Forever and you can't command him to change direction on the spot means that you'll regularly fail by complete accident which is frustrating stuff. As you progress through its grueling stages, you'll encounter a ton of hazards, mechanics, and enemy types that help mix up the gameplay beautifully. Although I prefer the original's core gameplay as you're actually able to control Meat Boy, the amount of variety in its endless runner sequel's gameplay is surprisingly quite notable. Whereas both feature tough-as-nails platforming, Super Meat Boy has you directly control the little squishy fellow while Super Meat Boy Forever has him automatically run and all you do is use 2 buttons to jump, punch, dive, and slide. Of course, the big difference between Super Meat Boy and Super Meat Boy Forever is their gameplay. □ The original Super Meat Boy is still quite an impressive challenge Gameplay │ Video Chums loves promoting hard-working indie devs so check out our Indie Game of the Month Awards and Rapid Fire Reviews.
